The Hills Have Eyes
The band has since split up.
The Hills Have Eyes began writing music and playing together Fall of 2005. Members, Brent Landon, Jeff King, and Mike Clark were formerly in a band known as A Kiss Farewell. A Kiss Farewell broke up around early summer of 2005, after 2 years of devotion to the local scene. Many of the bills they played were associated with good friends The Fall Of Troy, who were also a growing group at the time.
Ilia became good friends with the guys from A Kiss Farewell, after meeting them at shows and introduction through Thomas Erak. Ilia knew Thomas, Tim, and Andrew from High School and lived in Mukilteo at the time. Shortly after, Ilia (Guitar) and Mike (drums) began playing together as two-piece, putting together what can be described as very technical and progressive music.
About 3 months after A Kiss Farewell broke up, Brent had a whole new epic sequence of music written. He had recorded it along with a drum machine on his computer. It wasn't too long after that they decided to start playing the music as band, this time with 2 guitars and a little more evolved musicianship. The project between Mike and Ilia was put on pause.
The band eventually started playing the epic 9 song sequence, and went through many auditions for vocalists. When Thomas came home from a recent tour in December of 2005, they played with him on vocals at a practice. Things went quite well, and a decision was made. After 2 practices, The Hills Have Eyes played their first show on New Year's Eve at The Green Lake House. The first official show was January 14, 2006 at Ground Zero in Bellevue, WA.
