The Id
There is more than one artist with this name:
1) The Id was a four-piece psychedelic band from Los Angeles formed by legendary session guitarist Jerry Cole. They had one record: "The Inner Sounds of The Id", recorded in 1966-67, tracks from which & and its successive project The Animated Egg were reissued on innumerable records throughout the late 60's under various pseudonyms.
2) The Id is a seven-piece (three singers, two guitarists, bassist, drummer, and keyboard player) group from Wirral, UK. The Id was founded in 1977 and disbanded a year later after which members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys formed Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD). Later Id-drummer Malcolm Holmes joined them. Some songs of the Id were later used on OMD albums. In 2003 an EP, simply called The Id was released with three demo songs recorded in 1978.
3) The Id is a four-piece experimental hip hop/rock/folk/metal/funk/jazz band from Richmond Virginia. Debut album "I Can't Believe How Cool We Are" was released in March, 2006. Read more on Last.fm.
