The Mono Men
The Mono Men ARE an American band, based in Bellingham, Washington.
Dave Crider on guitar, former guitarist Marx, Ledge Morrisette on bass and Aaron Roeder on drums, rose up from the ashes of another Bellingham, Washington band, The Roofdogs.
Marx left the band and John Mortensen on vocals came from the Dehumanizers and Game for Vultures before joining the Mono Men.
Their sound contained elements of grunge (distortion-heavy guitars, sneering vocals), but The Mono Men filtered these through a mimicry of 1960s Washington proto-punk, garage rock bands such as The Sonics. Other influences include The Stooges & Lyres.
Guitarist Dave Crider also founded Estrus Records.
Aaron Roeder also owned the 3B tavern in Bellingham, which held an annual Estrus Festival, "Garage Shock".
Mono Men are performing live again the end of February 2013 in Bellingham, Wa. They are also set to perform a Euro/South American Tour and considering the creation of a new album.
