The Next Hundred Years
the next hundred years is the culmination of numerous collaborations between its members over the last ten years. With an original sound that blends the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Fugazi, and Flank, they have elicited overwhelmingly positive crowd response while playing shows with Vancouver acts including The Smears, Mongoose, and White Licorice. the next hundred years was spawned as a result of new musical ideas by old friends, in thousands of late night jams and parties. Kyle, Joel and Arden patiently honed their sound in east side watering holes and rehearsal slums, playing instrumental precursors of the current songs. Everything began to fall into place in 2004 when Zeb joined full time. His haunting blend of vocal and violin perfectly accented the powerful instrumental barrage. With the addition of Jordan on guitar in 2005, the next hundred years completed their dense, melodic sound. In the fall of 2005 they entered Studio54 with producer/engineer Pete Bastard Mills to record a demo EP. However, once in the studio the band clicked like never before and walked out with an album instead. The release of the 9 track self-titled album the next hundred years in January 2006 is only the beginning. Read more on Last.fm.
