The Red October
Spread the word about Eric Zbytek, Derrick McKeown, Sean Salasny, Kyle Harvey, and Luke Farely, also known as The Red October. Coming from the burnt out city of Buffalo, NY, the band had stepped their way out of the cold underground Buffalo scene to venture across the states in nothing but a van and trailer, playing shows to fresh new ears. All though Buffalo is not the greatest city in America, it has more pride than you can shake a stick at. Buffalove, as some of the natives will call it, is stirring in the hearts of every hopeful young adult as they watch their hometown teams, the Buffalo Bills and Sabres, lose almost every game. But, the Buffalo Wings and cold Coors Light being indulged in every basement party will fix all of that in a heartbeat.
The band formed in early 2009. After a few line up changes, they found the right fit that clicked. Only after a couple months and endless shows, the band put out a three song demo produced by Chris Flury from the popular Buffalo band Settings. After its release, the band continued the process of writing and expanding their creative abilities. In between the writing processes The Red October played shows after shows such as S.C.E.N.E. Fest in St. Catharines Canada and with bands like Emmure, Every Time I Die, Our Last Night, Eyes Set To Kill, and many, many more. In the fall of 2009 the band went into the studio under producer Mike Hatalak from another very popular Buffalo band It Dies Today. The Red October put out a six song EP and has been released on itunes and sold in the popular Hot Topic stores. Keep your eyes peeled because The Red October might be hitting a town near you!
