The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir
Chicago's Scotland Yard Gospel Choir impressed by imagining a union (in the case of Matt Kerstein) of Bob Dylan, Brad Roberts (Crash Test Dummies) and (in the case of Elia Einhorn) a Cat Stevens gazing down the font of his trousers and then into a heady tome with a naked eye and not into his own soul and, subsequently, the heart of man, with a high-powered telescope.
Einhorn and Kerstein have since parted ways, but SYGC continues on under Elia's leadership.
Sometimes funny and sometimes sad, the Choir's songs suggest not only a rare and knowing glimpse at the duality of man but also a glimpse at a band capable of letting loose the sparks that light the path to stardom.
