The Soulettes
Vocal trio, which comprised of Rita Marley (Wife of Bob Marley), Marlene 'Precious' Gifford and Constantine 'Dream' Walker at the beginning. They recorded for Studio One, Lee "Scratch" Perry and others. In 1969 they had a hit with a cover of The Beatles' Let It Be, recorded for Lee Perry, with a lineup consisting of Rita Marley, Nora Dean and Cecile Campbell. A big tour beckoned, however Nora Dean became ill and was replaced by Hortense Lewis. Shortly afterwards the band disbanded. Read more on Last.fm.
