Tojami Sessions
Tojami Sessions is a collaboration project of Tom Bucher, Michel Niepenberg and Jacek Darnowski and represents the diversity of house music. Michel and Jacek have been producing together since about 1992. As a duo, their first release was in 1997 on G.E.M. sub label Hey Babe!, followed by productions for Frankfurt's Raum...Musik using the pseudonym „Skiebäck“. Tom joined the crew in 1999 as a professional drum player - the Tojami Sessions trio was born and released on "In Between Entertainment", "Raum...Musik" and "Separe' Rec." until Steve Bug signed Tojami Sessions in the mid of 2001 for Dessous Recordings. 2010 Tojami Sessions will start their comeback – this time on Plastic City.
Tom’s interest in music started when he was 3 years old, drumming on his mothers cooking pots. When he was 9 years old, he took first drum lessons. Until today he has always been a member of a band, with whom he played at several concerts, band competitions and even recorded professionally their music at music-studios. Tom’s interest in electronic music started in 1993, soon followed by DJ performances, playing Techno & Trance. Later on he also played House, which is still his favourite style of music.
Jacek discovered his artistic disposition also very early, while other kids wanted to become a fireman or an astronaut, he wanted to be a cartoonist. Later, influenced of the disco-era during his growing up, the love for music had taken over and during his ancillary work for Sven Väth’s label eye-q/harthouse, he started to make music with Michel and to DJ publicly for many years. Followed by aborted studies in psychology, being an event photographer for nachtagenten.de and the studies of media production, Jacek mostly concentrates in fields of movies, camera work and directing right now, nevertheless the love for deep House music will never end.
Michèl loved to be creative all along. Drawing was the first trigger leading him to his own way of creativity but this would not have been the last. He started to play piano and began to capture soundscapes with his mono tape recorder. Shaped by the varieties of making music, his fascination in audio equipment became awake. With growing interest in computers, he was finally able to realize his own ideas of sounds and beats. This was the time Jacek and Michel got to know each other: Two nerds hunted by the same thing. MUSIC.
Last but not least, in a very quick way, they get the ball running: They created their first songs together They broke ground: First Steps to Tojami Sessions have been done. Read more on Last.fm.
