Tombstones
There are at least two bands by the name Tombstones. See also: The Tombstones.
1) A doom metal/stoner rock band from Oslo, Norway.
2) A death metal band from the US.
1) Tombstones consist of three men from the darkest of woods in eastern Norway. Based in Oslo, music has been played since 2006. Tombstones has been brewing on dirtier filth this time, and their new, third, studio album; “Red Skies and Dead Eyes” will tear holes in your ears and speakers.
Norwegian doom has never been played with more confidence and style, and the riffs and grooves penetrate your soul like a demon from ancient caves.
“Red Skies and Dead Eyes” gives you 44 minutes of dark doom, and will leave you on your knees, crushed by a thundering roar arisen from the bleak woods of Norway.
During live recording-sessions in May 2013, the Norwegian doomsters paired up with the best from their past, and both Petter Svee from “Year of the Burial” and the US-legend Billy Anderson from “Volume II” were turning the knobs.
To state the obvious, the sound on this slab of doom is earth-shattering. Expect nothing but an ultimate slab of total dynamic doom!
Volume I (self-released demo) reached the light of dawn in 2009.
Volume II was released November 2010 on Transubstans Records. Both albums were mixed by Billy Anderson.
Year of the Burial came out on Soulseller Records in 2012.
2) TOMBSTONES is the new band from Stevo of the infamous horror/gore legends IMPETIGO; it is an homage to the classic horror comics and artwork from the '50s, '60s, and early '70s, such as Tales From The Crypt, Creepy, Terror Tales, Chamber of Chills, etc. Musically, Stevo and the band decided that pure 80s Death Metal was the only way to go, taking inspiration from bands such as DEATH, MASTER, SACRIFICE, DECEASED, SLAUGHTER, and others.
Patrick Bruss from the Denver, Colorado, death metal monster known as CRYPTICUS plays guitar and bass for Tombstones, and Wayne from the deadly DECREPITAPH plays drums as well as writing lyrics for the band. Both are TRUE death metal musicians and horror fanatics of the highest order. With these maniacs involved this is sure to be some intense, heavy, and MEMORABLE death metal.
12 songs are being written for the debut album, titled NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH, to be released on Razorback Records in the near future. The album will have songs such as "Meet The Reaper", "Name Your Poison", "Grave Undertakings" and more. Demo material and samples from the album will be unleashed in the weeks ahead to give you a small taste of what's to come! Read more on Last.fm.
