Unknown Mizery
With multiple guest appearances on worldwide selling album compilations, numerous nationally televised panel discussions surrounding the themes of hip hop, gentrification and the lost community of Africville, a city wide high school tour surrounding anti-oppression training, and the foundation of a nation wide cultural fortification initiative in the media conglomerate Stolen From Africa, Unknown Mizery blurs the line between artist, teacher, student and documenter.
Pursuing music at the age of thirteen he initially surfaced as a member of the Toronto, Canada hip-hop collective, Cryptic Souls. His abilities as a solo artist would soon be recognized on a worldwide scale with his contributions on the Juno nominated Dj Serius album Dim Sum. To date his, contributions on the stated compilation are heralded as underground staples in Canadian hip hop. Unknown Mizery has completed three solo street releases to date, contributed as a member of the Toronto group Poor Man Militia and completed It Will Fall an album produced by Arkeologists and collaborated with SFA co-founder Logikal Ethix. The later has sold over 10,000 copies and received endorsement by Toronto Mayor David Miller in December of 2006. Throughout the releases Unknown Mizery has murdered the stage with; Dead Prez, Killah Priest, Raekwon, Bahamadia, Pharoahe Monch, Brother Ali, Maestro Fresh Wes, The Arsonists and Mix Master Mike and toured with KO Kapches and Swollen Members.
Unknown Mizery is a member of hip-hop groups Babylon Warchild, with Legitimate and Rumplestiltz, and Uknown Nation, with Geoff Starr, Kendal Thompson and KO Kapches. Unknown Miszery is also a member of the hip-hop duo Rebel Alliance, with Hobo Banditos, and the hip-hop collective Empty Handed Warriors. Read more on Last.fm.
