Víctimas Del Doctor Cerebro
Mexican alternative band Víctimas del Doctor Cerebro started playing under the name of Tecnopal by the end of the 1980s, led by El Chipotle and El Abulón. When drummer El Bruja and guitarist El Destroyer joined, the name of the band was changed, soon recording its debut album, called Tecnopal. After signing up to EMI Latin, the group moved to California to make its following record. That self-titled album, issued in 1993, included Víctimas del Doctor Cerebro's "el esqueleto," which became the group's first hit, getting its video frequently rotated by MTV Latino. After El Destroyer was replaced by El Stoneface and El Ranas joined, the band started to be recognized as an interesting live act, performing a theatrical spectacle, including dancing and pyromania. In 1995, Brujerias was released followed by 1997's Boutique 2000.
