''Here i am, and this is me'' is what Saskia van Orly, known under the artist name Van Orly says about Somebody Hold Me'. Her music is describes as pure soul with blues influences. From Aretha Franklin to Ann Peebles and from Al Green to Bonnie Raitt, but the spirit of Janis Joplin can also be heard when listening to Van Orly.
Although Somebody Hold Me is her first solo album, she's been here for quite some time. She used to be in the band Tambourine who scored a hit with the song 'High Under The Moon. Besides recording 2 albums with them (1989's Flowers In September & 1991's Waterland), Saskia also recorded with diverse Dutch & international artists.
