Wistaria
(1) wistaria is a Japanese heavy metal band formed in August 2009 and disbanded in April of 2012 . The band concept was "sound in the ocean that is bluer than indigo". Originally a five-piece band, at the time of disbandment wistaria consisted of one drummer and two guitarists.
(2) Wistaria is a progressive metalcore band from Iceland.
(1) In their original line-up, two singles were released: the first single "deep" was released April 29, 2010 (a DVD featuring the PV for deep and a live version of paranoid was also live-distributed on that date) and their second single "paranoid" was released September 23rd, 2010.
After the concert at 両国SUNRIZE on December 25, 2010, then bassist Haine took a temporary leave from the band in order to recover from ill health. During this time, drummer 釜山 (Pusan) changed his stage name to Arika. However, his health worsened and Haine officially left the band after their live at 両国SUNRIZE on 03/27/2011. The band decided to continue activities without an official bassist and recorded two more singles - twilight and new reality - which were released at the end of August 2011. These singles were described as showing "the two sides of Wistaria", with twilight showing the melodic side and new reality focusing on the heavy side. At around the same time, exactly 5 months after Haine departed from the band, then vocalist Eve left the band due to stressful family situations that prevented her from continuing band activities.
Left without an official bassist or lead vocalist, the three remaining members of the band decided to form a side-project "project Wistaria" in which they would play with guest vocalists until they have decided on a new vocalist for the band. After a period of activity, the two guitarists らぶりぃ and あんじぇろ formed new projects. On October 1st, Gt. らぶりぃ formed a new band PINKISH CROWN with 百合 (天狗櫻、黒死蝶) and AKANE (VELVET★CHERRY) on vocals and AMI (VAMPIRE PLEDGE) on bass. あんじぇろ formed a new band Anemone is Here with ASAMI (GUARDIAN HACKER), SASSY (ex. HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR) and Y.O.U. (e:cho).
In April of 2012, guitarists らぶりぃ and あんじぇろ and drummer Arika formed a new unit Primary Glow with a new vocalist, nacco. It is safe to assume that wistaria's activities have come to a definite halt and that the members consider the band disbanded.
