Xololanxinxo
Xololanxinxo (pronounced Cholo-lan-cinco), born Daniel Rodriguez, represents a unique breed of lyricist stemming from the roots of Los Angeles underground hip hop. At the young age of 9, this Midcity native began rapping around clubs such as the Radiotron where future legends such as Ice T and the Syndicate frequented. In 1991 Xinxo and fellow emcee 2Mex started the progressive hip hop group Of Mexican Descent.
Soon after their conception, OMD became an integral part of a sect of Los Angeles underground hip hop based around Midcity's groundbreaking Goodlife Cafe Open Mic that spawned innovators and hit makers from The Freestyle Fellowship to The Pharcyde to Skee-Lo to Jurassic 5. With underground classics such as "I Am Still" and "Money Is Meaningless" their debut EP "Exitos Y Mas Exitos" became an inspiration to thousands around the world.
Armed only with grassroots promotion, intense touring and uncontrollable creativity, OMD became a staple of west coast underground hip hop. Since his initial forays into music with OMD, Xololanxinxo has recorded numerous solo albums including "Tapes from a Stolen Car (The Victim)", "Marketing the Monsters", "People Kill the Person" and "Names".
Today Xololanxinxo continues to create innovative and provocative music with a band called AlltheDeadCholos that he created with psychedelic fusion musicians and multi-instrumentalists.
