Y?Arcka
Arcka is a producer, studio and live engineer raised in New Jersey and currently based out of Philadelphia. Getting a head start at a young age, Arcka has worked steadily to build a place for himself within the world of hip-hop and soul. His first beat tape was made on cassette at age 12. Since then, he has continued on the path to becoming an MPC virtuoso. Studying under the techniques of hip-hop heavyweights such as RZA, Pete Rock, the late J Dilla and Madlib, he has set out to explore a new sound using the instrument.
Under new found home ARCKATRON, Arcka has worked with Rob Swift, Mega Ran, Suzi Analogue, Has-Lo, Writtenhouse, Aquil, Zilla Rocca, Drematic, Electric Lady, Audio Rohn, My Man Shafe, Redline the Ace and shared the stage with Georgia Anne Muldrow, Dudley Perkins, Camp Lo, Knxwledge, Lil Dave, Mndsgn, Sir Froderick, Aeon and more. Arcka stands out as a focused musician: willing to explore standards, unafraid to go against the grain of them, with a deep passion for using music as tool to bring people together, and a skill level for audio that you don’t find everyday. He has released eight projects since 2008, including a series of beat tapes, two collaborative works, and a project with Ropeadope Digital, titled Un-Herd Vol. 1. His sound isn’t a question, it’s a solution. Check his sound out and all other updates at http://ARCKATRON.com Read more on Last.fm.
