Yummie
Yummie was a Swedish bubblegum dance group from Haninge, outside Stockholm. The group consisted of Qute (Petra Garnås), Zed (Teddy Gustavsson), and Maestro X (Göran Florén). Initially, the group also included Mr. Young, a fourth member, but the group consisted of three members for most of its existance.
Yummie is most well-known for the song Bubblegum which was one of their three singles released, and one of two non-promo singles released by the group. The others were Poppa Joe, a cover of English glam-rock band Sweet's single of the same name. A promo single entitled 'Get Out of My Face' was also released and was planned to be the lead single for the unreleased album 'Bar B Q'.
It has been suggested that the group sounds like a composition of Aqua and Ace of Base, with some songs being more pop-based than dance.
Interestingly enough, Yummie was never intended to be a project that should be taken seriously. According to members, the group had trouble finding its own sound, thus the Latin-influenced bubblegum dance that they made.
