my violent ego
Paolo Miceli (formerly Ruth Veln Kiss) from Rome, Italy, and Christy Brewster (formerly Kizzy) from Edinburgh, UK, together known as My Violent Ego, virtually met in 2001 through mp3.com and have been making music together for years without ever meeting each other, sending music files through internet and mail, compiling enough songs for releases such as Lìtost ep (2001), Feel Yr Sleep (2001), and their label debut release Carried-Along-By-Fate (2003), via Ocean-Music records, also available through Projekt rec and Clairecords/Tonevendor.
Then they finally met in Rome for some shows and radio showcases to promote Carried-Along-By-Fate, and again in 2004 for a brief promotional tour in italy.
The following summer they flight to France for the recording sessions of Clicks & Hisses (original home recordings demos available at myviolentego.com), but problems with the label, the recordings mediocrity, and new intolerances between the two, brought to split in late 2004, until 2009, making new music together.
In 2011, indie labels Sometimes, Handwriting and White Birch released the EPs collection One day you'll laugh at the sad saga that was, featuring My Violent Ego's early and unreleased recordings.
In late 2006 Paolo joined Rome-based Sea Dweller (Myspace Sea Dweller) as guitarist, and In Between Lies as drummer in 2009, until both groups disbanded around 2013.
Christy joined in 2007 her sister Kaye Brewster in Violet's Revenge.
In 2012, Paolo also joined shoegaze band La Casa Al Mare as drummer, and they released in 2015 their debut record This Astro.
