今井翼
Imai Tsubasa (今井翼) is a Japanese singer and actor, who is part of the popular Johnny's Jimusho Jpop duo, Tackey & Tsubasa (タッキー&翼).
Tsubasa was born on October 17, 1981 in Fujisawa, Japan. He joined the well-known Japanese talent agency Johnny's Jimusho (Johnny's & Associates) in 1995 at the age of 13. As per the agency's tradition, Tsubasa spent several years as a backdancer. He made his official debut as a recording artist on September 11, 2002, as part of the duo Tackey & Tsubasa, with the release of a debut mini-album, "Hatachi."
Since the onset of his career, Tsubasa has established himself as a versatile entertainer, whose range of activities has included roles in Japanese TV drama series, variety shows, commercials, musicals, and concerts. Still, he is arguably best known for his dancing skills. Tsubasa also hosts his own weekly radio show, one of the mediums by which he keeps his fans up-to-date with his latest activities. Outside of Tackey & Tsubasa's regular group activities, Tsubasa has also performed solo. In the Fall of 2005, he completed his first national solo concert tour, entitled "23 to 24." A DVD of this tour was released in August 2006.
Recently, Tsubasa successfully completed his second national solo concert tour, entitled "STYLE." And presently, he is busy wrapping up the year 2006 with Tackey & Tsubasa's unit activities.
