“FAMA” stands for the meaning of hard-working farmer, which shows their eagerness to spread the seeds of Hip Hop in Hong Kong and other areas of Asia, the desert of Hip Hop culture. Feel-good Canto-rap duo FAMA is one of Hong Kong’s few successful indie acts, their laidback rapping rolls together relaxed rhymes, social commentary, and a hearty dose of good humor for songs that distinctly reflect local culture.
FAMA with members C Kwan (C君) and 6 Wing (陸永) was formed in 2001. They were discovered by the legendary producer Dj Tommy and joined Color Music Entertainment Ltd. in 2002. FAMA released their first EP “Cheng Wing Chi” (2005) and “Music Tycoon” (2006) which comes out a conspicuous success. After that, Dj Tommy recommended FAMA to sign a record deal with CMD (CLOT Media Division Limited) and releasing the CD Album “Feng Sheng Shui Qi” in 2007. The songs “Feng Sheng Shui Qi” and “Quan Min Jie Gu” made a big hit, and FAMA held their first large-scale concerts at Star Hall on August 2 and 3, 2008.
