최진혁
Choi Jin-hyuk (born February 9, 1986 as Kim Tae-ho in Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, South Korea) is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his roles in the television series "Gu Family Book", "The Heirs", "Emergency Couple", "Fated to Love You", and "Pride and Prejudice".
Kim Tae-ho launched his acting career after he won the grand prize in the KBS reality talent show Survival Star Audition in 2006. In 2010 he began using the stage name Choi Jin-hyuk prior to the airing of family drama "It's Okay, Daddy's Girl", in which he was cast in his first leading role. He also starred in the romantic comedies "I Need Romance" (2011), and "Ms Panda and Mr Hedgehog" (2012).
On January 2013, Choi signed an exclusive contract with actor Jung Woo-sung's agency, Red Brick House. His popularity then rose in 2013 after a well-received two-episode stint on period drama Gu Family Book, in which he inflicted viewers with a dose of "Wol Ryung fever," becoming an overnight sensation for his breakout performance that lead to viewers demanding on forums that he and his character be brought back into the drama. His official return to the drama in episodes 12 and 13 was met with anticipation and joy and continued until his character exited in episode 22, leaving yet another unforgettable impression with the viewers and causing his name to top search engines and his single for the drama's OST to debut at #6 in the music charts.
Choi then landed supporting roles in two high-profile projects: writer Kim Eun-sook's trendy drama "The Heirs", after impressing her with his portrayal of Gu Wol Ryung, and the action film "The Divine Move". His costar in The Divine Move, Jung Woo-sung also directed him in the short film Beginning of a Dream. His rise as a hallyu star in Japan, China, and more led him to be chosen as a special MC for MBC's 10th anniversary commemoration show, From Dae Jang Geum to I’m a Singer!, his first try at hosting.
In 2014, he headlined his first miniseries, the cable romantic comedy/medical drama "Emergency Couple". Choi then returned to network television with a supporting role in Fated to Love You, a remake of the 2008 Taiwanese drama.
Shortly three weeks after starring in "Fated to Love You", the actor’s agency, Red Brick House, revealed, that Choi was in the middle of positively reviewing a casting offer for MBC’s Monday-Tuesday drama, "Pride and Prejudice". On September 16, MBC confirmed that Choi had been cast in the lead role opposite Baek Jin-hee for Pride and Prejudice with the drama officially entering production and script reading beginning on September 26. As reported by Nielsen Korea, the evening drama premiered on October 27, 2014 with a 11.2% rating, recording the highest rating in its time slot, significantly ahead of its competition showing Choi's growing star power.
