Хиподил
Hipodil is an iconic Bulgarian punk-rock-metal band. Besides it's huge cultural... rather anti-cultural impact on Bulgarian society, the band is well known for its vulgar behavior/lyrics/music and everything else connected to the band. Ever since Hipodil's foundation back in 1988 in Sofia, Bulgaria there have been controversies, riots, and many social distortions provoked by the main quartet - Svetlio - vocals, Pesho - guitars, Venci - (b)ass, Luchezar - drums.
Hipodil have put out several studio records:
Alkoholen delirium (1993)
Nekaf ujas, nekaf at (1994)
S gol v rakata... (1996)
Nadarveni vaglishta (1998)
Ta'pest (Best of) (1999)
Hora ot naroda (2000)
Hipodil (2-track promo CD) (2002)
Lots of the songs that Hipodil have put out have become anthems to the fans; some of them are "Bate Goiko (B.G.)", "Skakauec", "Bira s Vodka", "Oblaci" etc.
After a long and wild career, however, the band went on hiatus in 2003, most of the members joining forces in a new project dubbed Svetlio and the Legends (who have released two studio records - Bulgarno and Iban).
There have been a couple of occasions when members of Hipodil have got back together for a show or two, but not until the Summer of 2009 have all the original members got up on one stage (alongside another two symbolic Bulgarian groups - Kontrol and Reviu) for an epic show, titled 'Sega i zavinagi'/'Now and Forever'. The show has been filmed, and a documentary has been shot as well, both awaiting release some time in 2010. Read more on Last.fm.
