Bendeniz
Bendeniz (born Deniz Çelik, 25 July 1973) is a Turkish pop musician.
After graduating from Erenköy Kız Lisesi, a high school in Erenköy, Istanbul, she continued her education at a university in Switzerland for two years. For some time, she played football for İstanbul Dostlukspor in the Turkish women's football league. During this period, she also wrote some compositions and fiddled with the idea of publishing those songs.
Musical career
Incidentally, Deniz met a representative of a music company called Raks Müzik Yapım and they produced together her first album Bendeniz in the year 1993. Owing to the extravagant title song Ya Sen Ya Hiç, the album was a large success and sold over a million copies. Kanak Attack, a socio-critical German film by Feridun Zaimoğlu (2000) used a piece called Sana Mı Kaldım from her 1996 album Bendeniz III.
