Constituting in 1999, in San Diego, Waterline Drift united the vision of a quintet formed by Michael Henning (guitar, vocals), Matt Gagin (guitar, vocals), Erik Norgaard (bass), Jeff Bennett (keyboards) and Sean Taughter (drums). Searching for inspiration in the works of bands like My Bloody Valentine or Depeche Mode, Drift chooses to combine glowing picks of pop style with inflamed pieces of rock & roll. Delivering their sole dreamy pop themes supported by a consistent guitar section and expertise instrumentation, Drift started by gathering a respectable reputation due to their intense live performances. Following a series of concerts all over San Diego's club scene, the band decided on recording their first disc. The self-titled five-song EP arrived late in 1999, achieving considerable success and giving the band the necessary energy to record their debut album, Divisible by 7. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, Rovi Read more on Last.fm.
